I put up 2,886 commits in a year, and it wasn’t because I chose a side. It’s what happens when you refuse the false choice and start working like a producer, orchestrating outcomes instead of just typing. The things that make a senior engineer dangerous — real TDD, judgment earned the hard way, taste for what not to build — don’t expire in the AI era. They compound.
